| Most Awesome (scout’s choice) |
Building rockets: All families should build their rockets at home. We will have some supplies at the first den meeting in April. Your scout will need a 2 liter plastic soda bottle. Do not use a plastic water bottle. Water bottles can be thinner and not designed for the CO2 gas that a soda bottle is designed for (40-55 psi at room temperature pressure when you buy them at the store, max rating 150 psi). We pressurize the rockets to 50 psi when launching.
Here are a tutorial and templates to help you build your rocket:
Launching rockets: Launching starts at 2 pm. Each scout will have at least one opportunity to launch, and we’ll plan for a second and third rounds as time permits.
